5..4..3..2..1 Here I Go!

It's been a little while, but I’ve been focused on completing a milestone in my own personal journey and now I can say this officially!! I am a Realtor®!! As I am beginning this adventure and connecting with people along the way, I am naturally thinking back to the different times that we have relocated and both the joy and anguish of our various home buying adventures. I have been both a buyer and a seller numerous times and know how downright frightening it can be. From my personal perspective, what I craved was information.  I wanted a trustworthy partner that was invested in us, someone who made us feel like our voice mattered and our goals and aspirations were top of mind for them as well.  Our "person" didn't need to have every answer at the tip of their tongue, but he or she needed to be able to use her resources to find it, and be honest, realistic and upfront.

Yes, I realized that there was a transaction and a commission that was involved, but I never wanted to feel I was being sold. I never wanted to feel like I was asking a “stupid question.”  Instead, I wanted a partner who would help us through some of the biggest financial and sometimes emotional commitments that we would make with honesty and empathy. When I walked into a home wondering where our family Christmas tree might fit, or thinking about the school system, or the condition of the home, or our budget, I wanted to feel like these things mattered as much to them as it did to us.  Having been through this process many times, I've learned from those willing and eager to make that connection with us, and those that instead looked at us as simply a paycheck.

Over the next several blog posts, I will share some of my experiences with you.  I will openly share these learnings, good and bad along the way.  Some you may connect with a particular experience and say, “that’s me!”, others of you may be experiencing your personal journey in a different way.  However, I have so many amazing resources at my fingertips and so much information I want to share. I will try to keep it light, funny, engaging, informational and relevant and I would love your feedback along the way.  Feel free to say hi, comment, and ask questions.  For me, this is about being a helpful partner, a trusted resource, making connections and building a sustained relationship.  Regardless of whether or not we ever get the chance to work together, I hope that I may be able to answer some of your questions and be helpful to you along your unique path.  Your sweet journey!

So, with that in mind, let’s “spring forward” together!!
